1.) To explore a new country and gain insight on their culture and heritage
I will accomplish this by:
-Exploring and traveling the county
-Welcoming a new lifestyle and family traditions while living with my host family
-Fully immersing myself in the New Zealand culture which emerges from European and Maori nationalities
2.) To learn and apply new teaching strategies
New Zealand is known for their strides in Literacy Education; I am eager to learn what practices they have implemented which has led their education system to be renowned around the world. I am open to new strategies and hope to come home with the tools and skills which will make me a better teacher.
3.) To grow as a student, as a teacher, and as a person. By taking this opportunity to student teach abroad I am becoming more independent, more confident, and more culturally aware.
